Talisker 2009 8 Year Old Provenance

Provenance "The Coastal Collection" is a limited edition Single Cask series of four bottlings honouring Scotland’s Whisky islands and the seas that surround them. The Collection concludes with this Talisker 8 Years Old Single Cask bottling which has spent its life maturing in a refill hogshead. Just 319 bottles exist globally and, in line with the Douglas Laing philosophy to bottle Scotch Whisky “as natural as it gets”, the series is bottled at a high alcohol strength of 48% and proudly offered without colouring or chill-filtration.

Tasting Notes:
The nose opens with a delicious maritime and oceanic quality – the West of Scotland at its best. On the palate, expect sweet Malted barley, honey, then sea salt and freshly prised open rock oysters, all finishing with gentle puffs of smoke, bonfire embers and lightly charred wood.
