Teaninich 8YO Special Release 2025 (Rye Rebel)
The Tasting Notes
A green, herbal, spicy nose, mild in feel yet with a considerable prickle. The top notes are faintly sharp, suggesting acid-drop boiled sweets, and soon become sweeter, with a of soft fudge then green notes, which develop a more perfumed character in time
Light and creamy-smooth in texture, and sweet at first in taste, with creamy vanilla and light acidity. There’s a green, herbal side to the taste too. A dash of water softens things while reducing the sweetness, bringing up the woody notes.
Quite short and, surprisingly, now sharply spicy, with a pinch of dried coconut in the aftertaste. A little water sweetens the taste and increases the spice.

SINGLE GRAIN SCOTCH WHISKY DARING RYE
Spicy sweetness rich in heady herbal aromas.
Diageo's first Single Grain Scotch Whisky bottling made using rye. Matured in ex-bourbon casks.
Journey beyond convention, with the taste of a rebellious rye experiment.
From the distillery that dares to be different, to stand apart from tradition, discover the rebellious charm of the outlier: Diageo's first Single Grain Scotch Whisky bottling made using rye.
From a bold 2016 rye experiment using Teaninich Distillery’s rare mash filter, we bring a standout Scotch. Malted rye and barley are mashed together for a distillation matured in ex-bourbon casks. This bold deviation yields flavours rich in subversive spicy toffee sweetness, and thick with deep aromas of cinnamon and clove. A marvellous atypical taste, that proves fortune favours the brave.
From Teaninch Whisky Distillery, Highlands.
