Made from the Palomino grape it is aged for 5 years under a covering of fresh, naturally-occurring yeast giving Tío Pepe its distinctive, bready, lightly nutty dry palate. Its outstanding quality won it Gold Medal Awards in the ‘International Wine Challenge’ in 1999 and 2001 – the first Fino ever to achieve gold status twice in the history of the Challenge. Tio Pepe also achieved gold medals in the 2002 and 2003 International Wine and Spirit Competition.
