Tomatin 2008 12YO Cognac Casks, The French Collection

The French Collection exhibits the unique influence imparted by different types of French wine and spirits casks in an exceptional showcase. The whisky, distilled in 2008, was laid down in traditional oak casks prior to being moved into Monbazillac, Sauternes, Rivesaltes and Cognac casks for its final maturation, resulting in a magnificent collection.

Distilled on 16th May 2008, this whisky is brimming with with fresh fruit and floral flavours with subtle nots of lavender and Scottish heather. On the palate there are hints of cranberry, orange zest and rose water with well-balanced spices. The French oak provides a finish which is long, with notes of Earl Grey tea and poached pears.
