Tomintoul 2006 15 Year Old, Port Cask
The Tomintoul Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a testament to their Master Distiller, Robert Fleming, whose family has been making whisky in the Speyside-Glenlivet region for four generations.
He has carefully selected single malt distilled in 2006 and matured initially in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak casks. The single malt in these casks has been expertly married then finished in the finest Port pipe casks sourced from Portugal. The Port Pipe casks perfectly complement Tomintoul Single Malt imparting rich fruit flavours, which enhance the character and complexity of their whisky.
Tasting notes:
Nose: Maraschino cherries and cooked fruits mingled with tonka bean, flaked chocolate and cedar spices.
Palate: Sweet and luscious with layers of cherry liqueur chocolates, rhubarb crumble and ginger biscuits bound with baking spices.
Finish: Warming notes of dark chocolate, sultanas and mocha fading into a clove and cinnamon glow.
