Tomintoul 2009 12 Year Old, Oloroso Sherry Cask

The Tomintoul Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a testament to their Master Distiller, Robert Fleming, whose family has been making whisky in the Speyside-Glenlivet region for four generations.

He has carefully selected single malt distilled in 2009 and matured initially in exceptional ex-bourbon American oak casks. The single malt in these casks has been expertly married then finished in the finest Oloroso sherry butts sourced from Andalucia, Spain. The Oloroso Sherry butts perfectly complement Tomintoul Single Malt imparting rich fruit flavours which enhance the character and complexity of their whisky.

Tasting notes:
Nose: Rich and fruity with pronounced aromas of brittle toffee, dried fruits, milk chocolate and baking spice.

Palate: Sweet and silky with layers of coffee cake, sultanas and mocha mingled with toasted walnuts and candied cloves.

Finish: Nutty and warming with notes of maple syrup, coffee grounds and warm pecan pie.
