Wasted Degrees Volcano Coffee Stout

An annual brew, each sharing the same core recipe, but with every new vintage featuring a distinct hero ingredient. The 2023 vintage is a collaboration with Glen Lyon Coffee Roasters, and includes Cascade hops grown in nearby Scone by their friend Mel.

They selected Finca Volcan Azul coffee grown in Costa Rica by a family-run business. The growers, Glen Lyon Coffee and Wasted Degrees all share similar commitments to the environment.

Volcan Azul was incorporated into the beer as a cold brew coffee, the long extraction process enabling the coffee to impart its acclaimed flavours of red apple, brown sugar and tropical fruit, a perfect pairing for the malt and hops to create a beer of character and complexity.
