Details
A stunningly breath taking new release from Bunnahabhain.
With Bunnahabhain sitting on Islay's northern coastline, the 1980 Vintage Canasta Cask Finish has breathed the briny coastal air for 36 years, first in casks that held Oloroso sherry, then in perfectly sweet Canasta sherry.
The Canasta casks are personally selected by their Senior Blender, Dr Kirstie McCallum working closely with their Spanish bodega partner, where they source the finest sherry wood for their whisky.
A blend of the Palomino & Pedro Ximenez grapes, the Canasta sherry is renowned for its aromas of dried nuts and raisins with a velvety palate and long finish. Characteristics which have complimented and enhanced beautifully, adding additional complexity and layers of flavour to this unique Bunnahabhain single malt whisky spirit.
A limited release of only 1,220 bottles making the Bunnahabhain Canasta 1980 a very rare addition to their range.
