Deanston 17 Year Old Orange Wine Cask
The Tasting Notes
Orange zest and marmalade lead, with dried apricot, honey and toasted almonds. Soft malt sweetness follows, lifted by light oak spice and a gentle herbal note.
Bright citrus oils and blood orange upfront, layered with stone fruit and sultanas over a malty biscuit core. Vinous depth brings honey, ginger and a touch of warm spice.
Zesty finish with lingering orange peel and a touch of oak.
Details
In 1966, founder Brodie Hepburn transformed a forgotten cotton mill into our Highland distillery - a place where heritage meets innovation and flavour leads the way.
Deanston 17 Year Old Orange Wine Cask Finish is the latest chapter in that story. This Highland single malt Scotch whisky was initially matured in ex-bourbon casks for 15 years, building the distillery’s signature honeyed richness and waxy depth, before a 2 year finish in Vino de Naranja casks.
These rare fortified wine casks are made using sun-dried orange peel and aged in a traditional solera system, adding a distinctive Spanish influence to the whisky’s maturation journey.
