Enigma 2 is cask 368 distilled on 10th October 1989 and was matured all its life in a modern concrete warehouse which is partly underground and has air circulated round it 24 hours a day. The cask produced 379 bottles at a strength of 62.3% vol.
The Enigma bottlings show the extremes of maturation conditions. The damp wet dunnage warehouse yields less of a liquid loss but a far greater strength loss. The dry concrete warehouse yields a much higher liquid loss but retains a greater alcoholic strength. This truly is a remarkable enigma to celebrate their 200th anniversary.
