Glenallachie 30 Year Old, Batch 1

From the outset of working with the GlenAllachie spirit, Master Blender Billy Walker continually expressed his desire to use their vintage stocks to craft a truly outstanding thirty year old. With this objective in mind, he has meticulously supervised the development of the slumbering whisky within each earmarked cask until optimal interaction between distillery and wood was achieved. Selecting a combination of 1989 and 1990 vintages matured in former PX and Oloroso Hogsheads and Puncheons alongside a small quantity of Chinquapin Virgin Oak casks. Nine casks were married together by Billy to create The GlenAllachie 30 year old Batch 1; their oldest and most prestigious release within their core range.

Bottled at cask strength of 48.9%, non chil-filtered and natural colour, the 30 year old delivers bold sherry-matured sophistication; notes of fruit cake and dark chocolate fused with classic GlenAllachie honeyed charm. This small batch release truly showcases GlenAllachie in its purest form, the perfect unison of cask and distillery character.

Nose: Fruit cake, raisins and mocha, with honey, cinnamon and coconut.
Taste: Layers of dark chocolate, fruit cake, raisins, honey and figs, with treacle, orange zest and nutmeg.
