Ichiro's Malt Wine Wood Reserve

Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a distinctive and elegant pure malt whisky made from a variety of single malts that have been blended and finished in wine casks made from French oak. This type of cask adds a floral and slightly nutty character to the whisky with a sustained fruit character.

Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is a vatting of single malts that have been aged in ex-bourbon barrels, hogsheads and puncheons. After blending these malts together, the whisky is transferred into French wine casks called Ovum casks. These casks are shaped like large eggs and hold around 2000L, they are made in the Charentes region of France and impart an incredible complexity to the whisky.

Ichiro’s Malt Wine Wood Reserve is an elegant and rich pure malt whisky with notes of red berries and forest fruits along with candied citrus and white flowers. There is a slight peppery character on the palate with dark chocolate, ginger and red apple before a long and sustained oak spice finish.
