Jura 2008 17 Year Old, Little Brown Dog

Distilled in 2008 and bottled by Little Brown Dog, this 17 year old Jura began its maturation in a French oak Oloroso sherry hogshead before being transferred into a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask for a further nine months.

The result is an unapologetically sherried whisky, packed with rich sweetness and deep cask influence. Despite the intensity of the PX maturation, Jura’s distinctive spirit character still shines through, with subtle herbal notes providing balance beneath the layers of dried fruit and sherry richness.

A departure from Little Brown Dog’s usual focus on balancing spirit and cask influence, this release embraces its role as a full-bodied sherry bomb. So dark was the whisky during bottling that the team could only laugh when they first saw it flowing from the cask.
