Details
The Macallan 1876 Replica has been painstakingly recreated, in this entirety, from an antique bottle originally filled with rare spirit distilled over 130 years ago.
1876 saw Victorian middle class society obsessed with etiquette. A preoccupation not unknown to The Macallan of that time where the use of only the finest ingredients could be described as verging on the obsessive. It is fair to assume The Macallan would have found much favour amongs the polite society of the day.
The have taken great care to ensure the bottle glass, the label set and of course the whisky are recreated as close to the original as they can be.
Having first nosed a sample of the original precious spirit, The Macallan Whisky Maker Bob Dalgamo applied his skill and expertise in marrying casks from their maturing stocks to recreate the style, complexity and character of the original. Now you can appreciate for yourself a taste experience they believe is borne of a Victorian obsession.
