Secret Guatemala Distillery 2012 10 Year Old, Dram mor Single Cask #1727

With a long history of exporting sugar cane, Guatemala is renowned for producing one of the world's most celebrated rums, Ron Zacapa. Their single cask Guatemalan rum has been aged for 3 years in Guatemala before shipping to the Netherlands in 2015, it reached its final home of an ex-Scotch whisky cask in the UK in November 2016. This rum showcases baklava, meringue, honey and a hint of caraway seed.

Nose: Dusty books and linseed oil with a delightful agricole note following accompanied by a delightfully under ripe tropical fruit.

Palate: Cut grass with molasses and liquorice all combine to give a wonderfully dry rum with a strong undercurrent of cola nut, vanilla and boiled butterscotch sweets.

Finish: Exceptionally clean and clear oak, beautifully crisp.
