"As you can imagine, we have visited Islay many, many times. In the early days of my introduction to single malts I was not keen on peated whisky, it was all just a bit too powerful a smell and flavour. My how times change! 

Bowmore was an early smoky favourite, not too intense and I really loved the sherried influence."
