Torabhaig Taigh
The Tasting Notes
Seaside embers and flint smoke are balanced by earthy woodland notes, evoking an autumnal forest walk. Baked apple pie, maple syrup, and gentle raisin richness emerge, alongside a touch of clove, cinnamon spice, and a hint of cereal biscuit.
Light to medium-bodied, with soft smoke wrapped in vanilla custard, toasted almond and sweet dried fruits, all carried on a smooth, oily texture.
Gentle yet spirited, with toasted oak and a sprightly touch of tannin. Lingering vanilla and red fruits mingle with cinnamon and clove spice, before settling into a persistent, pleasant smoke that rounds it off with both warmth and approachability.
Details
Torabhaig Taigh is the first core expression from Torabhaig Distillery, representing the distillery’s signature house style described as ‘Smoke with Taste’.
This single malt Scotch whisky is matured in a combination of first fill bourbon barrels, refill bourbon casks and select Madeira casks. The use of first fill bourbon casks supports the development of sweetness and structure, while refill casks allow the distillery character to remain at the forefront. The inclusion of Madeira casks adds an additional layer of influence during maturation.
Produced using gently peated spirit, this release reflects a balanced and approachable style from the Isle of Skye distillery.
Bottled at 46% ABV, Torabhaig Taigh is presented without chill-filtration or added colouring.
