Ardbeg 1974 31 Year Old Single Cask #2752
The Tasting Notes
Fragrant with lots of vanilla and chocolate laced with spice and hazelnuts. Smoke from peat fires, sea salt and tarry rope is also present in abundance. Grape skins, digestive biscuits and toffee cracknel emerge to complete this complex expression.
The mouth feel is full, tingly and warming. Sea salt and seaweed, smoky wood bonfires with dark bitter chocolate are all at the fore. As the smokiness fades tart fruit skins combines with liquorice and spice, these all complimented by hints of lemon oil.
A long finish with golden syrup, peat soot, fruit slice with delicate citrus flavours.
