Ardnamurchan AD/ 10 Year Old, 2025 Release
The Tasting Notes
Freshly opened milk chocolate digestive biscuits. Glacé cherries, lime cordial, a soft dusting of icing sugar on marzipan, apricot jam. Melted butter with acacia honey on sourdough toast. Salted preserved lemons. A whiff of long grass.
Chewable, oily mouthfeel. The marzipan theme continues, with sugared almonds. More nuts: salted cashews and subtle pistachios. A gentle, creamy sweetness. Rich orange polenta cake. Baked cooking apples with fizzy lemonade. Peshwari naan filling.
Details
This year's 10 Year is the first batch to incorporate their spirit peated to 30ppm with Highland peat, utilising whisky from the first peated runs in early 2015. As always, highlighting distillery character remains a crucial aspect of its composition, with 50/50 unpeated to peated spirit.
They also opted to vat primarily bourbon barrels to allow their coastal, saline traits to shine, though a touch of sherry maturation adds roundness, weight, and texture.
Unchill-filtered, no colour added
