Torabhaig The Distillers' Series, Niall's First Edition
The Tasting Notes
Bright and distinctive, led by tropical fruit - cooked pineapple, guava, and pear drop. Vanilla and golden syrup add a rich sweetness beneath, while soft ember ash and a light sweet char evoke a beachside campfire.
Opening with juicy orang richness. Malty biscuit and soft vanilla build, while subtle sea salt and brine introduce a distinct coastal edge. A lightly oily texture carries the flavours, linking the tropical sweetness to the lingering spice.
Long and warming, with complex spices taking centre stage. Slight ashy peat adds depth, while the gentle warmth of the tropical sweetness and vanilla echoes through the lingering finish
Details
The Distillers' Series is Torabhaig's experimental whisky range, giving the distillery's team the freedom to explore new ideas, flavours and techniques while staying true to the island, the stills and the house style that define Torabhaig.
Niall's First Edition is inspired by the sea surrounding Skye, the influence of his fisherman father and a lifelong connection to the water. Coastal air, family heritage and the rhythm of the tide are reflected in this distinctive cask strength release.
Crafted from a mash bill of 90% peated malt with 5% dark crystal malt and 5% brown malt, the whisky was matured in first-fill bourbon casks and refill rum casks. Bottled at natural cask strength, without chill filtration or added colour, it offers a fresh perspective on Torabhaig's evolving style.
