Ichiro’s Malt Chichibu The London Edition 2024 is the seventh release of this iconic Japanese single malt whisky, created exclusively for the UK market. It is incredibly sought after by whisky connoisseurs due to the quality of the spirit and limited nature, along with the eye-catching, bespoke label designs.

JAPANESE SINGLE MALT, BOURBON BARRELS & WINE CASKS - The blend of this whisky is comprised of around 10 casks of Japanese single malt from the Chichibu distillery. The casks were primarily ex-bourbon barrels, which impart a gentle sweetness and fruitiness to the whisky, along with a red wine cask to add structure and balance. The resulting whisky is incredibly complex, harmonious, and elegant, demonstrating the skill of Ichiro Akuto and his team.

This limited-edition whisky opens with exotic vanilla and rich honey, along with white peach and a hint of smoke. It has a velvety texture on the palate, with notes of white pepper and cream, culminating in a bright finish with fresh minerality and a touch of resinous pine.

Chichibu Distillery, located 100km from Tokyo in Saitama prefecture, was set up by Ichiro Akuto and began distilling in 2008. The Akuto family has a long history of alcohol production in Japan from sake to shochu and whisky, Ichiro wanted to continue this legacy in his hometown of Chichibu. The whiskies produced at Chichibu Distillery are incredibly elegant and sophisticated, reflecting the quality and expertise imparted to the spirit.
