The Tasting Notes
Baked summer fruit pudding, Cedar wood/cigar box, smoky jam tarts, oak tannins, truffles.
With water an intense ‘bitter cherry’ scent, a curious salty/savoury note, and then some lovely, perfumed violet notes.
Velvety and mouth-coating with aniseed, soot, cherries, strawberries, apricot, pear, pastry, dark chocolate, coffee, bitter cherry, and almond.
Long lingering sooty finish.

Ardbeg Blaaack was inspired by the distillery’s worldwide community of fans and its reputation for doing things a little differently.
For this release, Ardbeg travelled to New Zealand, the furthest possible point from Islay, to source the casks used in its creation. The Black Sheep theme celebrates individuality, drawing on New Zealand’s famous sheep population while reflecting Ardbeg’s own unconventional spirit.
Released in 2020, Blaaack remains one of the distillery’s most distinctive modern bottlings.
