Ardbeg 25 Year Old Lord of the Isles
Details
Ardbeg 25 Year Old Lord of the Isles is a rare and highly regarded expression of the distillery’s Islay single malt, matured for 25 years in oak barrels and bottled non-chill filtered.
Named after the Lords of the Isles, who ruled Scotland’s western seaboard from Islay between the 12th and 15th centuries, this release pays tribute to the island’s rich history. The title references Somerled, the Norse-Gaelic warlord whose descendants founded the great Clan Donald and Clan MacDougall families. Ardbeg itself was founded on Islay in 1815 by John MacDougall.
Produced at the distillery's coastal home on Islay’s southern shore, this 25 year old expression has become one of the most sought-after and collectible Ardbeg releases, celebrated for its age, rarity and connection to the island’s heritage.
