Ardbeg Fermutation 13 Year Old, Committee Release
Details
Released exclusively for the Ardbeg Committee, Fermutation 13 Year Old tells the story of one of the most unusual episodes in the distillery’s history.
In 2007, a broken boiler threatened six washbacks full of fermenting liquid. With no way to halt the process, the distillery team removed the washback lids and left nature to take its course. The result was the longest fermentation in Ardbeg’s history, an extraordinary event that inspired the name Fermutation.
Matured for 13 years and bottled as a limited edition Committee Release, this whisky commemorates a remarkable moment in Ardbeg folklore and the unexpected circumstances that helped shape it.
