Ardbeg Very Young Committee Release

Following the reopening of Ardbeg Distillery in 1997, enthusiasts were eager to sample the new spirit as it matured. In response, Ardbeg released a limited quantity of six year old whisky exclusively for members of the Ardbeg Committee.

Ardbeg Very Young was the first release in the distillery's celebrated series of "work in progress" bottlings, offering an early look at the character of the spirit produced after the distillery's revival. Drawn entirely from first-fill casks, it was bottled at cask strength and presented non-chill filtered.

An important release in Ardbeg's modern history, marking the beginning of the journey that would eventually lead to the return of mature age-statement expressions.
