Ardbeg 19 Year Old Traigh Bhan Batch 2
The Tasting Notes
Ripples turn to torrents as the true nature of this dram emerges. An intensely salty mouthfeel shifts like the tides into soothing medicinal notes. Swells of aniseed pass over the palate, before rich fudge, birch tar and peat smoke crash down wildly.
Eventually, savoury and smoke collide in a sharp, intense and satisfyingly long finish.
Details
Batch 2 of Ardbeg's annual Traigh Bhan series continues the distillery's exploration of well-aged Islay single malt. Named after Islay's famous Singing Sands beach, Traigh Bhan is produced in small batches, with each release carrying its own batch number and subtle variations.
Part of Ardbeg's core range of aged expressions, the series showcases the distillery's approach to longer maturation while remaining true to its distinctive Islay character.
