Ardbeg Heavy Vapours is a limited edition release that emerged after the legendary purifier on the distillery’s still went missing. Known for helping shape Ardbeg’s signature balance, its absence has had a noticeable impact on the character of the whisky.
Without the purifier in place, the familiar harmony between peat smoke and floral fruit notes has shifted, allowing darker and more intense flavours to come to the fore. The result is a bold and unusual expression that explores a different side of Ardbeg’s spirit.
